Something's definetly not setting well with Rick today. I'm afraid his c-diff may be back (or was never completely cured) because he's had several bouts of diarrhea today. I don't even know what to say...my frustration level is just about as high as it could get. It's just not fair to see him turn things around and see him making progress, and then something sets him back again. He was actually scheduled to get in the pool today, but we had to scratch that! The lab results should be back sometime this evening and hopefully we can start medicine tonight for whatever it is. I feel like we almost wasted today. He didn't make it to one PT session, he slept through one OT session and speech therapy. After he woke up from the OT session, Julia was nice enough to spend an extra 20 minutes with him, and she said, "okay Rick, now I've got to go, but we'll pick up where we left off tomorrow, okay?" and he nodded his head yes. And he did get fitted for his new dynasplint for his left arm, so no more casting. He'll wear the arm splint at night only and will be able to use his left arm during the day. So, I guess not all was lost, but I was so hopeful after the great weekend we had.
Hope everyone had a better Monday than we did, and hope y'all thank God if you had a boring day...boring is good!
And as Rhett Butler (and Sherry) would say, "Scarlett, tomorrow's another day."
Good night,
Crystal

Remember we still have "the man" on our team!! Jesus Christ, and he will get us through this just as he has done the last 72 days. You keep your head up Crystal. You have come too far to let anything hold you back now!! You are the stongest woman i have ever known. We will be praying for you girl. Hope the kids are well. Crystal, So glad you posted!! You are such a great wife and mother!! You can do anything with the God!!! I wish I were there just to give you a big hug to reassure that Rick is a miracle and remember every little event no matter how small is a blessing!!!! Pull up your boots and get ready for what tomorrow brings!! I am so flattered you quoted one of my favorite ones!! It has helped me deal with some difficult times!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya bunches!!!Aunt Sher
PS I hate when I don't proof what I write!!
ReplyDeleteCrystal, Faith at times is a dog fight. The goal is to always be leaning on the everlasting arms. That is the fight. To remind ourselves that our God is Almighty. Sometimes I think that progress in the Christian life is measured in being still and trusting. Isaiah 30:15 tells us; "In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee! Faith reaches out and lays hold of the power of God. That power is what sustains us in the hard days. FBC Guthrie continues to pray for you and your family, along with many others, that God would show Himself strong in your lives. He has, and is. Be still and know I am God.
ReplyDeleteCrystal,
ReplyDeleteRemember, the thief comes to "steal, kill, and destroy", just a speedbump, God is still in control!! None of us like to go from great to crappy, but it still happens. Keep your head up, keep your eyes on the prize, keep the Word in your mouth and flowing to Rick as much as you possibly can, it's going to be OK!!
Father in heaven we come before you with praise and thanksgiving, Lord we pray that the pro-biotics be restored in Rick's system, make the meds do what they are designed to do, give Crystal a little boost and heal Rick's gi tract, whatever it takes, in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen, God Bless you all, later, Rick
Yes, tomorrow is another day. Remember back to the really bad ones at the beginning. Rick has come a very long way.Just give him time. As you have said "all in God's time". We don't know what that is but with your faith you will know.
ReplyDeleteHope for you and Rick a beautiful day tomorrow. shelah
Crystal,
ReplyDeleteI know that today is a better day for you then yesterday. But you need to go back and read Deuteronomy 28:13.
God isn’t finished with you yet, so there will always be setback to continue to strengthen you. Keep praying girl! That danged old devil is fighting for control and will not give up easily, yet he is already defeated. You know that. Look what God has done for you and Rick. Just go back and read day one of your blog. Refuse to allow discouragement to come when you have a minor setback because this is his last ditch effort to keep you in bondage just before you break forth into unbridled liberty. You are above and not beneath; he is beneath and not above you. Be strong and courageously keep pressing through. As long as you have faith (Hebrews 11:1), Victory is assured.
Just like Sheri said “Pull your boots up cowgirl”, you’ve got God on your side!
Love ya!
Sandy
