A NEW RIDE

Rick got his new wheelchair today, and he looks fabulous in it. It is a standard wheelchair that he will be able to propel better because it has the big wheels that he can use his hands on, and it is about 40 lbs lighter than the old chair. His posture is so much better and he can flat move in it. He isn't that great with his arms and hands yet, but it'll come. After he got it, we played wheelchair basketball in PT. Rick picked me to be on his team. We played Laura and Susie...it was pretty fun...Rick enjoyed it and even grabbed Laura's wheelchair one time to keep her from getting to the basket. The Friday outing was more like an inning. We went into the courtyard behind the building and made stepping stones, planted flowers, petted a miniature pony, ate cake, roped the dummy...it was actually pretty nice to stay here.

I didn't get the kids today. Riley isn't feeling well for one thing, but we have plans of going to Vernon on Sunday for Kelsey Graf's confirmation...she's our God daughter so I would like to be there for her confirmation. Then, my nieces have their dance recital on Sunday afternoon in Munday and it is always a lot of fun to watch.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

God Bless!

Love,
Crystal

  1. Crystal,
Glad to hear about all the "positives".
I know there are untold numbers of thing I have never heard of, but a child with shingles is first for me! My brother, (Steve Vandiver) just had them, however he is 64. Let's pray and agree, Father in heaven we come before you with praise and thanksgiving and Father we thank you for all the wonderful things you have done for Rick and Crystal and the rest of the family. Father we thank you for Rick's healing and his continued healing. We thank you for giving Crystal strength, courage, and love. Father we pray for little Riley and we thank you for healing her body. Father we thank you for taking the pain and healing her quickly. And Lord we thank you for comforting Cade through this ordeal. Father we thank you for the strength, love, wisdom, guidance, and comfort you have given all of those folks who have been involved with Rick and all the family. Also Father keep them safe this weekend and help Crystal find a home. In Jesus name we pray, and all of God's children said amen and amen, In His Love, later, Rick
