DAY 75

Rick had another good day. Started out this morning by brushing his teeth, and I don't mean just a little bit...he got after it. He was brushing so hard and so fast we were laughing! It was really good to see a glimpse of his old self. He walked on the treadmill today, and worked hard in both speech therapy and neuropsych. He had a shower this evening and the aide came to get me to watch what he was doing, and he had taken the sprayer and was rinsing himself off, then he took the towel and was drying his face. In spite of the c-diff his skin still looks okay...he's red, but not broken down. That is such a blessing...he's made it 75 days in the hospital with no bedsores, and no thrush in his mouth...that's got to be a record!

Please continue to pray for Kyler. He had to go across the street this week because of an infection in his stomach, and fungus in his throat. He made it back over here today. He told his grandmother that he sees shades of black...like he can tell where she's standing because she's darker than everything else. Please pray he gets his eyesight back, and that he has no more setbacks.

So thankful to be here, and so appreciative of the "small things"...because small things turn into great things! Also very appreciative of all the huge support that we've received...I pray God gives a special blessing to each of you.

Love,
Crystal

  1. Crystal,
So glad to hear good news! It really is great to hear how well Rick is doing. I just hope and pray y'all manage to keep it up. Where there is a will( and Jesus) there's a way! You and Rick never cease to amaze me and I personally think many others! Please extend a big "God Bless You" to each of the folks who are helping you two. I, like you, hope and pray that all concerned will be rewarded with wonderful blessings in this lifetime for all they have done and contributed to help y'all!
Father in heaven, we just thank you so much for all you have done for Crystal and Rick and their family. Father we pray for the c-diff that is bothering Rick and right now we command it to leave his body and never return, that he be completely healed of this bacteria in the name of Jesus. Father we thank you for all you have done for Rick and we thank you in advance for the blessings to come. Father we pray a special prayer for all of those folks who have had a hand in Rick's and Crystal's and the children's care, Father bless them greatly and supply all their needs according to your riches in Glory by Christ Jesus! Amen and Amen, God Bless America and all of those in authority, Later, Rick

  6. Hi Crystal, so thankful for the progress...God is good...75 days without bed sores and thrush is a mighty miracle...His grace is sufficient, His shield is protecting Rick. Praying for healing for the c-diff. God is in every detail, for sure. Hope you have a blessed weekend filled with more milestones and many familiar faces to love on ya'll...looking forward to seeing you myself hopefully soon. We are also praying for Kyler, know the Lord is using you to glorify Him for this family...God Bless You.

"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:2-4
