DAY 161

To make up for not having therapy on Thursday, the patients had 3 hours of group therapy this morning consisting of the parachute and ball, "volleyball" played with a balloon, bingo, and then we made cards for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. The kids enjoyed therapy more than anyone else did! Rick was completely smoked afterwards. He ate and then went to sleep...he slept for 3 1/2 hours and then couldn't really wake up...very tired today. Tom and Millard came this morning and then Bobby, Linda and Glenn came this afternoon and Terry Joe and Kathy Carlton also visited. We looked at the pictures again from the teamroping...I have a feeling that may be a daily thing for him...but that's good therapy, too. I don't think Susie is a professional, but she took some of the best pictures I've ever seen.

The kids and I are about to run grab supper. Thanks for all the support you've shown us...I honestly don't know how anyone can get through something like this without faith, family and friends.

Love,
Crystal

  1. Crystal,
Well sounds like y'all had a pretty good thanksgiving and thanksgiving weekend. Sharyn and I got to go see our "Sugarman" and enjoyed a great dinner and visit with the kids. I pray everyone will have the opportunity this holiday season to show love and appreciation to someone special and thank God for everything he has blessed us with. I was blessed last night about 10:15, I had the opportunity to meet TxDPS trooper Duncan, thank you Lord, he only gave me a warning. God Bless Trooper Duncan and all the Dps Troopers in Texas and all law enforcement officers, protect them and keep them safe. Let's pray, Father in heaven we thank you for all the blessings you've given us this past year. Father although many times we do not understand, please keep us mindful that you are in control, that you know the end from the beginning. Father bless our troops around the world and keep them safe so they will have the opportunity to return to their loved ones. Lord we thank you for continued healing for Rick and we praise you and thank you for a supernatural miracle in his body and mind. Father we thank you for giving Crystal strength and watching over and guideing the children. Lord keep the folks on the highway safe and be with them as they travel. In Jesus name we pray, Amen and Amen
God Bless America and all of those in authority, Later, Rick

  3. After some "turkey day leftovers" and watching Polar Express, the kids are settled into bed. They had lots of good stories to tell about their Thanksgiving weekend. We have many things to be thankful for. BTW (and speaking of thanks), Sandy Shelton if you are reading this, thank you for your goody package-the treats for the kids and the sweet note for me-I appreciate your kind and encouraging words. And...speaking of appreciation, I have to agree with Rick V above on his take on "apprecation". I couldn't agree more!
