DAY 37

Rick was weighed first thing this morning, and praise God...he's gained 2 pounds!!! This is so good...he'd already lost 30 lbs and y'all know he doesn't have 30lbs to lose. So, looks like we've got his nutrition needs figured out. He wasn't very impressed with us during therapy today, and really acted like he wanted to be left alone and go back to sleep...which is what he is doing now.

I have also decided to put the kids in school at Seymour. At this point I feel it's the best place for them to be while we're at Baylor...I know we're going to get in there. Riley will be in 5th grade, and Cade will be in 2nd grade, and I know my Seymour family (blood kin and otherwise) will take good care of them. Hopefully Seymour won't be too big of a shock to their system...afterall they only have about 8 kids in each of their grades in Guthrie!

One day at a time Sweet Jesus...

Love,
Crystal

  1. YAY! You know that I will take care of your kiddos at school. Cade will either be next door to me or one or two doors down, so that'll be great! The fifth grade teachers will be Monica (Culver) and Amy Burnett, so they will take good care of Riley. We're so glad to have them, even if it is just for a little while. Do you know when you'll move to Baylor? So glad Rick is gaining weight. That has to be a good feeling. See you soon!
    Love and prayers,
    Kelly, Reno, Alyssa and Morgan

  3. Crystal,

I just read the days I missed on the blog.. Amazing grace, how sweet thow are. Our God is such an awesome God! I can’t believe the strides… Not sure why I say that, ALL THINGS are possible with him and Rick is living proof! I am so excited for y’all and this awesome journey to victory our Lord is taking you on.

Beloved, I am bringing revelation to your heart and mind that will reveal strongholds in your life that have not yet been torn down. I will show you the way of victory, but you must quiet your own soul and refuse to give place to fear. Let Me show you the powers that are arrayed against you so that you can wage an effective spiritual war. I am about to level the playing field by giving you righteous perspective of what was and what is and what is to come, says the Lord.

    John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Miss Crystal, be still...and you will continue to marvel over his angels and presence all around you, Rick and those sweet kiddos.

    Love you so much!
    Bobby, Sandy and Tater

  4. Hey girl! I had to take a few minutes and catch up on the blogs I have missed over the last few days. This journey you and Rick are walking right now is such a testimony to sooooo many people! I stand in awe at the miracles God is performing through Rick each day! Thank you for sharing each milestone with all of us and for allowing us to feel so connected even though we can't be there with you daily!
    Love you, Shelly

  5. Hi Crystal,
I started at the beginning and have read all blogs to catch up on Rick's progress. After wiping my eyes and thanking God for his awesome Power and Greatness, I wanted to let you know we're praying for all of you and will continue to do so until Rick recovers fully. You are such an inspiration and you have such faith. Hang in there and keep your faith. Rick and the kids are so fortunate to have you! As I told you, our house is open to anyone that needs a place to stay while in Wichita Falls, so please call if there's anything we can do.

  7. Crystal - Rick is such a lucky man to have you! I can't imagine a more genuine sweet spirit than yourself to be by his side!! Prayers are constant for Rick, and especially you! Payton, my youngest, is also going to be in 5th grade this yr., and I want him to know who Riley is and that we are praying for her Mom & Dad constantly! I hate that I haven't been able to see you during this time, and maybe only get to see you here and there before now, but know that I am thinking and praying for Rick, you, and the kids all the time!!

Proverbs 4:20-22 - My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them penetrate deep within your heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

God's Word is health to all Ricks flesh. His Word is medicine to Ricks flesh. I am the Lord that healeth thee is medicine to all Ricks flesh. I will take sickness away from the midst of thee is medicine to Ricks flesh. The Word of God is full of the life of God. That life is saturating Ricks spirit. God's life and healing power is in His Word, and His Word is at work in Rick now. The Word of God is depositing the life of God and the healing of God into Ricks spirit. That life and health is spreading out of Ricks spirit into every tissue and pore of Ricks body, creating health and soundness. Ricks body has no choice but to respond to the healing in the Word that is being absorbed into Rick now!!!

I read this and put Rick's name in there and believe it, and I hope everyone who reads it believes it as well!!

    Luv ya Crystal!!!
    Jennifer
