DAY 326 & 327

I just read the comments from yesterday to Rick, and he is smiling. Thanks to all of you for your continued support of Rick and our family. Thank you M.L. for telling Tim...Rick will love the magazines. But I have to also say, that when I went home last week, I saw the pictures you sent of Rick from the last branding. They are wonderful, beautiful pictures and I'm so happy to have them. I have to tell everyone about the first time M.L. came to Tongue River to take pictures while the wagon was out. After I met him I told him that any pics of Rick if he could just photoshop Sam Elliott's face over Rick's that would be perfect. For a minute M.L. couldn't figure out if I was serious or just joking. Rick, however, knew I was serious! And Reno...I couldn't hear all of the awards this morning for your phone ringing! Which brings me to today's recap. Riley forgot to tell anyone that she had her awards ceremony this morning until late yesterday. So, I left Lubbock and made it to Seymour at 10 pm and totally surprised the kids. Riley received her gold medal for her first place in Oral Reading and then I took them out of school early to come back to Lubbock.

Yesterday Rick was on a roll again...literally. He got on the tryke and went for a ride. He went about 6 blocks and then ended up in the parking lot of the hospital across the street. Laura wanted him to find the ramp to get up the curb, but Rick decided to jump the curb. He got his speed up and he did get the front wheel over it, but then high centered and had to back off. Laura helped him find the ramp. He had to make a hard left turn to get to it, and once again built his speed up and flipped a u-turn on two wheels. Laura was squealing, "Rick, stop, slow down" and laughing at the same time. Sometimes she doesn't know whether to get mad or just laugh.

We had plans of going to the ranch tomorrow to load some things, but the weather has changed our plans. Still don't have definite plans of when we'll get moved or exactly how it will all work, but I know we'll ge there.

Please include Glenn (Rick's dad) in your prayers...he had a run in with a bull last night at the rodeo. I dont' know any details, but he may have suffered a mild concussion.

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. Galations 6:9

God Bless,
Crystal

  1. Sounds like Rick has really been making great strides these past couple of months. Every post has more and more progress. I would love to see him riding that tryke!
    Still praying for you!

  2. Crystal,
I heard about Glenn's wreck yesterday at the coffee shop, but no one knew anything for sure. I hope Glenn is back on his feet soon. Age is not being kind to some of us and he is a little older than me. Now, glad to hear Rick has maintained his sense of humor and excitement. (I'm glad he didn't have a "wreck" jumping the curb. Remind him of Evil Knevil, don't get too carried away. Let's pray and agree, Father we come before you with praise and thanksgiving. Father we thank you for healing Rick and strengthening his body and we thank you, in advance, for complete restoration
in Rick's physical as well as spiritual body. Father we thank you for the tenacity and wisdom you have given Crystal. Father continue to strengthen Crystal. Father continue the healing in Riley(I'm just about over the shingles also) and comfort her and Cade and surround them with angels and goodness. Lord touch Glenn, heal his body and restore him to good health. Father we thank you for all the folks who have helped Rick and Crystal and we pray a hundred fold blessing on each of them. In Jesus name we pray, and all of God's children said Amen and Amen, later, in His love, Rick
