DAY 332

Good news from Rick's OT eval. Emily said that his strength in his left hand has increased by 13 pounds of pressure...I don't really understand that, but she said it is great! He also had 8 pounds of pressure increase in strength in his right hand. There are also tasks that he is timed on and on one of those he beat his old time by 2 minutes! He had a lot of speech/cognitive therapy today. He met with Meredith 3 different times. In one session he worked on handwriting and there is such a dramatic improvement. Meredith was telling him how much better it was than the first time and he asked her to show him what he did the first time he tried writing. She pulled it out of his file and he raised his eyebrows when he saw it. More walking on the treadmill and the pool in PT.

I read the following in the Lutheran Witness magazine and thought I would share it.

One in five Americans has a disability. It's our nation's largest minority group. It's also the most inclusive and diverse minority group, affecting people of all ages, genders, religions, ethnicities, and socioeconomic levels. And it is the only minority group that any person can join at any time-at birth, or later-through an accident, illness, or the aging process.

Please keep praying for Rick. He is making awesome progress...amazing progress that can only be the work of God. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Love,
Crystal
