FAITH IS BEING SURE OF WHAT WE HOPE FOR AND CERTAIN OF WHAT WE DO NOT SEE. HEBREWS 11:1

Oh my...I keep telling myself I'll post more often, and now look how long it's been! And we hit a milestone last weekend and I didn't even have the time to blog about it! Rick got his boots on for the first time since his accident! My uncle TJ stretched them just a little bit and Rick got them on. And the bonus is that he walks better and stands better in them. His PT at NT rehab loved it and said have him wear them every time he comes. He was really diggin' his boots, too...made him smile. Even with such a great thing happening for him, he was a bit down at the beginning of the week. I think he's tired, and a little frustrated. He wants to see BIG progress instead of little progress. He got out for a little bit this morning to watch Cade's soccer game, and made it to Riley's pep rally on Thursday. Also on Thursday, we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary and Riley's 12th birthday. Poor Rick has had to put up with me for 15 years straight...no breaks, no time outs. I remember last year at this time...Rick had just had his baclofen pump in and had some adverse reactions...I was so scared and worried it was all I could do to call Riley and tell her happy b-day. So, this year was WAY better than last!

Still waiting on DARS money...they did finally release some money in October, but it wasn't until the end of the month which his counselor said is unusual. I've been waiting to hear where he is at on the waiting list now, but their computers went down on Friday & I wasn't able to find out. In the past DARS has only released money in Sep, Oct, Nov, and Dec and ususally only about 50 clients each release. So, please pray that Rick is high enough on the list that we'll make it in the next 2 rounds.

Next week we are taking a break from therapy in Wichita Falls. We will see Tim here in town twice, but other than that we'll just be working on some things at home. I'm hoping the break and the rest will put him in a better mood.

God Bless,
Crystal

  1. Crystal,
Thank you for continuing to post. I can imagine how busy all of you are, but please know that we all check each day to follow Rick and your progress. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and all of the accomplishments that Rick is making. We all sincerely thank you for continuing to be an inspiration to us all and for helping us with your witness. Tell Rick hello for me and please know that your family is in our constant prayers.

    Take care,

  2. Crystal, You do not know me. I was sent this site through Levi Steelman's site right after Rick was hurt. I have keep up with you for all these months. You have an amazing faith. Just remember God has not brought you this far to let you down. If the DARS money doesn't come through in the next rounds it is because he has a greater plan. I check this site every day and will continue to pray for you. I do not even know you but I can tell you that Rick has not had to put up with you for 15 years, He has been luck enough to have you for 15 years. I do not think he would have made half the progress he has made without you. Go with God. Gayle Murdock

  3. Crystal,

We also check your site almost every day. I am so glad to hear of the progress Rick continues to make. Boots! That is a pretty big deal in itself.

    Thanks for keeping us updated.

    Love,
    Ann & Cliff
